Client death in intervention work is the outcome no practitioner plans for and nearly every experienced interventionist eventually faces. You worked the case. The family showed up. The person went to treatment, or refused, or left early. Then you get the call. We were trained to run a family meeting and coordinate an admission, not for the seventy-two hours after a former client dies.
