Intervention With Blended Families: Mapping Loyalty, Authority, and Divided Households

An intervention with blended families is not a standard intervention with extra chairs in the room. It is a different clinical problem. When step-parents, ex-spouses, half-siblings, and two households are involved, the system carries loyalty structures that predate the addiction and will outlast the intervention. If you plan the case as though you are working with one family, the room will divide along fault lines you never mapped.
